Uzbek-Hungarian company starts construction of flu vaccine plant

The Uzbek-Hungarian company Uzominvest has started the construction of a plant in Tashkent Region in [central] Uzbekistan to produce a vaccine, Regnum reported quoting the press service of the state joint-stock concern Uzfarmsanoat (Uzbek pharmaceutical industry).
The source told the agency that the project was being implemented by the state joint-stock concern Uzfarmsanoat together with the world leader in the production of anti-flu medicines - the Hungarian company Omninvest.
"There are plans to start production at the new plant at the end of 2010. However, doctors in Central Asia will get a vaccine made by the company as early as this autumn: during the construction of the plant, the medicine will be supplied from Hungary," the press service official explained.
